Willie Obiano, the governor of Anambra state has emerged once again as the flag bearer for the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) party for the forthcoming gubernatorial election come November 18. This has put him on a pedestal to been re-elected as governor for the second time.

He clinched his candidature unopposed at the party’s primary which held at the Prof Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre, Awka on Tuesday, August 15. A total of 1,092 total accredited delegates were present in which 1,070 people voted in his favour, 11 voted against and another 11 votes were rendered invalid.
