Chelsea claimed 3 points today by beating Tottenham Hotspurs in a three-goal match. Both of Chelsea’s goals were put in by Marcos Alonso, an unlikely two-goal hero.
Alonso scored the first goal in the 24th minute. Chelsea did a good job repelling Tottenham’s attack with a remodelled defence that featured Andreas Christensen who had his first Premier League start.
However, their good work was undone when Michy Batshuayi headed into his own net in the 82nd minute, just three minutes after he got on the field of play. This brought Tottenham level.
Two minutes from time, Alonso again showed his quality on the field by storming into the Spurs box to put another goal in, thereby securing the lead for Chelsea and ensuring that they leave with 3 points.
