A former member of the House of representatives, Olufemi Onimole passed away in a London hospital at 61 years of age on Saturday, August 26.
Mr Olufemi who represented Ifako Ijaiye constituency between 1999 and 2003 under the umbrella of the Alliance for Democracy(AD) party is reported to have battled with a cancer-related ailment that eventually claimed his life.

Mr Onimole was re-elected in 2003 under the same platform but defected to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) on the floor of the House after which he attempted been re-elected in 2007 but lost to the late Morufdeen Adeola Adefolabi. His attempt to overturn the result was unsuccessful at the Election Petition Tribunal.
