Nollywood actor, Obi Madubogwo, has finally given up the ghost on Monday, 28th August, 2017, after battling with a chronic diabetic sore for quite a while.
Obi was known for his roles in movies such as ‘The King of Musanga’, ‘Passion of my blood’, ‘Mothers-in-law’, among others.
Veteran producer, Chidi Nwokeabia, confirmed the news of Obi’s demise on the Filmmakers’ WhatsApp group, Film4Life, on Monday evening. He wrote, “Obi is dead. We just spoke to the wife. He developed fever yesterday, went to the hospital this morning, had complications and died. The family will be taking the corpse home tomorrow.”
The newly elected President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) also confirmed the news of Obi’s death, saying that it was sad that Obi congratulated him on the telephone but did not live long enough to congratulate him face-to-face and witness the reforms being brought to the AGN.
Indeed, it is another sad day for Nollywood. May his soul rest in peace.
