The Branch President of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) in the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo, Ondo State, Dr Ibikunle Fakorede, has said that members of the Association would fully comply with the directive of the national body to observe total strike. The Branch disclosed that it would not provide any skeletal service during the strike.

NARD commenced the strike on Monday over unpaid salaries in both Federal and State Tertiary Health Institutions across the country, non-inclusion of Resident Doctors in the Federal Government’s integrated salary pay structure, lack of funding for residency training, and non-enrollment of their members on pension arrangement.

Dr Fakorede urged the Government and Stakeholders to address the challenges facing the Health Sector of the nation, especially those facing Resident Doctors.
