Former Minister of Works and National Publicity Secretary, Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has said that the imposition of the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof Kolapo Olusola, as the sole candidate of the PDP for the State’s 2018 Governorship election, was simply part of Governor Ayodele Fayose’s plan to sell the Party to the opposition.
Adeyeye alleged that Governor Fayose was working with external forces to ruin the party.
Speaking at a meeting with some members of the party in Ado-Ekiti, he said that the selection of Olusola by Fayose would not stand, rather, the National Working Committee of the Party would conduct a free, fair poll to elect a credible candidate.
Meanwhile, Governor Fayose has said that he could not be threatened by anybody over his choice of a candidate, albeit his deputy, for the Governorship poll.
He also said that he owed nobody any apology as he had not done anything wrong, or breached any law of the Party or the country.
