A Television Journalist in Tripura, India, has been killed while covering a protest. This information was revealed by the Police on Thursday.
The State’s Police Chief, AK Shukla, revealed that the Journalist, Shantanu Bhowmick, 28, from Dinraat News Channel, was attacked and abducted on Wednesday while at protests held by the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT).
Bhowmick was later found with multiple stab wounds. He died by the time he reached the hospital.
Four members of the IPFT have been taken in for questioning as regards the incident.
Gauri Lankesh, a Senior Journalist and Activist, was shot to death outside her home in Bangalore on 5th September, making it the second reported incident of a journalist being killed in India within a month.
