Labour leaders in Kogi State have called on their members to be prepared for harder times ahead, saying that there was no going back on the strike action which commenced ten days ago until the Government addressed their demands.
The Labour movement also called on the Government to stop its media façade but rather start negotiations to end the strike action.
This was made known yesterday in the Labour Movement’s bulletin, signed by the Secretaries of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Joint Public Service National Council (JPNDC), and titled “On Our Demands We Stand; Strike Continues Indefinitely”.
Meanwhile, the State Governor, Yahaya Bello, stated that the Government was working towards the welfare of the workers but also had a duty to pay more attention to the law and the sustainability of the reforms being put in place.
