The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has urged the Federal Government to take the welfare of Teachers seriously, so as to encourage them in the task to help mould the futures of students.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NANS, Bestman Okereafor, made this appeal on Friday in Enugu in a Statement to commemorate the World Teachers’ Day.

Okereafor said that there was urgent need to produce quality Teachers who are highly motivated, and also the need to ensure that the Teachers get paid consistently.

He said that this would ensure the delivery of qualitative academic and moral knowledge to the students.

The PRO further implored Nigerian Teachers to remain committed and steadfast in discharging their duties.
