Cross River State Government and the Niger Delta Development Commission has agreed to partner in Dualising the Bakassi Deep Seaport link roads from Calabar as part of the new development package the commission has for the state.
Governor Ben Ayade who announced this after a close door meeting,shortly after the courtesy call on him by the Board and management of the commission in his office.
Ayade said Dualising the Bakassi Deep Seaport roads which is part of the 274 kilometer Super Highway from Calabar by the NDDC will have a great relief on the financial burden of the state with more impact on the communities along the road.
On their part, the Chairman of NDDC,Senator Victor Ndoma Egba and the Managing Director of the Commission, Nsima Ekere said the new thinking and direction of the Commission is to partner States on their signature project base on request which Cross River will benefit from maximally.
AIT Rasheed Olanrewaju reports that Governor Ben Ayade had earlier urged the commission to see Cross River State as part of the states in the Niger Delta that needs more development due to its size and status.
