The Nigeria police has described the fresh allegations by Senator Isah Misau that the inspector-general of police Ibrahim Idris bought two jeeps for the wife of the president Aisha Buhari and manipulated his retirement age as, misinforming and misleading.
At a press conference at the force headquarters, Thursday, the force PRO Jimoh Moshood said the vehicles were approved by the IGP to the two police personnel (Toyota Sienna business NPF 2406d and a Toyota Hiace NPF 3363d) attached to the wife of the president as part of her convoy movement and security purposes and not for her personal use or other purposes as purported by the senator.
Moshood presented a memo that was written by the force secretary to the police service commission on the 17th of January 2017.
Titled ‘re-request for correction of date of birth ap. 24246 Ibrahim K. Idris as evidence of an omission made by PSC in the current staff list of senior police officers.
The force pro further stated that the senator Misau is deliberately refusing to to prove his allegations leveled against the police chief as a trick to distract the senate ad-hoc committee members and the general public.
