A suspected case of the fast-spreading viral disease, monkey pox, has now been reported in Gboko, Benue State.

A Facebook user by the name of Smith Takema, posted a photo of the suspected victim, and contacted Dr Kadev Kenneth Kevin, PEPFAR Programme Officer at the Institute of Virology, Nigeria.

Dr Kevin replied, urging that they remain calm, and that necessary arrangements were being put in place to reach the patient.
