The Governor of Nyeri in Kenya, Wahome Gakuru, has passed on after being involved in a road accident on Tuesday, 7th November, at Kabati, along Thika-Sagana Highway in Murang’a County.
The Governor’s Mercedes Benz veered off the road while he was on his way to a talk show.
Governor Gakuru was rushed to Thika Level 5 Hospital for emergency treatment but succumbed to his injuries there.
This makes Gakuru the second Nyeri Governor to die in Office, after Governor Nderitu Gachagua, who died in February.
