President Muhammadu Buhari has declined assent to the new amendment to the Electoral Act, reordering the sequence of election for the 2019 general elections.
The new amendment overturns INEC’s time table that fixed the presidential election first.
Buhari’s decision to withhold assent to the bill was conveyed in a letter written to Speaker Yakubu Dogara and personally signed by him.
The letter was read at Tuesday’s plenary by Speaker Dogara.
