The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom state on Technical Matters and Due Process, Elder Ufot Ebong has saved an armed robber from being lynched by an angry mob in the state.
The angry mob descended on the robber yesterday after he and his gang members had robbed a filling station along Oron Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
Report has it that two others had already escaped while one was caught with guns and money.
The scene created gridlock along the busy road as angry mob who made frantic effort to mete out ‘jungle justice’ on the suspected criminal was turned down when the Governor’s Aide whisked the suspected criminal away.
He was handed over to E Division, Shelter Afrique Police station.
