Embattled Senator Dino Melaye has said he would appear before the police today, April 24, 2018.
Mr Melaye made this announcement via Twitter as Internally Displaced Persons from one of the camps in Abuja spent the night at the entrance of his Abuja residence.
The lawmaker was arrested and later released by Nigerian Immigration Service at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday. He was on his way to Morocco for an official function.
Mr Melaye who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory was accused by the police of gun running based on the allegation by a suspect who was arrested with guns in Abuja.
He was subsequently invited for questioning but has failed to honour the invitation.
