The Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary Election Appeal Panel has submitted its report, stating that there was no petition against the party’s primaries conducted at the weekend. Chairman of the panel, Amb. Fati Balla, stated this yesterday, while submitting the committee’s report to the party’s national leadership.
The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, won the governorship primaries. Balla said: “In the three days that we have sat, we have not received a single petition, either in form of writing, telephone call or a text message, which means there has been no petition after the primary election in Ekiti State. We have come before you this afternoon to submit a report. Since there is no petition from Ekiti State, therefore the committee has wound up this afternoon.”
The APC National Organising Secretary, Senatoe Osita Izunaso, who received the report on behalf of the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, thanked the committee for undertaking the assignment on behalf of the party.
He said all efforts are currently geared towards winning the July 14 Ekiti governorship election, while disclosing that the party’s national campaign committee for the poll will soon be inaugurated. He called on the people of Ekiti State to reclaim their stolen mandate by voting for Fayemi.
His words: “We are glad that you have completed your assignment after sitting for three days and there is no petition from any of the aspirants.”
