My enemies plotting to assassinate me-Wike

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that his enemies have finalised plan to kill him through a security operative that would shoot him in a crowd and claim that it was not intentional, but caused by “accidental discharge”. Wike accused the Federal Government and its associates of being behind the plot.

The governor, however, said that as a child of God, he remains protected at all times, noting that nobody can intimidate and succeed with their “evil plot” against him. Wike, who stated this yesterday in Port Harcourt at a dedication and thanksgiving service to mark the third anniversary of his administration in Living Faith Church, noted that he got wind of the plot the same way he received the information that his enemies wanted to plant money in his hotel room abroad and arrest him.

He said that the plot will fail, because God will continue to defend him. His words: “Intelligence report available to us as at this morning indicate that they are plotting to assassinate me in a crowd and claim it was accidental discharge. But as a child of God, nobody can intimidate me, because what is in me is greater than what is in them.

“The level of conspiracy against Rivers State is unfortunate. Instead of focussing on governance, they are plotting how to jail people and assassinate me or frame me. The essence of governance is to make genuine change.” According to the governor, his enemies simply wanted to give him the same treatment that was given to then Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha. He said: “God has been revealing their evil plots against us.

The Inspector- General of Police (IGP) went to court to get a warrant to search my house in Abuja. But I got wind of the plot to plant millions of dollars and AK-47 rifles there. “But a few days ago, the court said that you cannot search my house. We are not afraid of houses being searched, but we know the real intention.”

Wike, who came to the church with his wife, said he has every reason to thank God for his good works in the state since he assumed office on May 29, 2015. “We must thank God. If you know the plan of the enemy; the extent they have gone, we have no option than to thank God every hour, and every day.”

He said that at a time some state governments are commissioning tanks and wheel barrows, Rivers State has been inviting people to commission projects. The governor said that it was unfortunate that somebody God has given eyes could say that he has not seen anything in the state, declaring “you said so, may you never see again.”

He said that because his administration handed over the state to God from Day One, those who refused to support the state when kidnapping was an issue have been struggling to fight insecurity in other parts of the country while Rivers has been peaceful and progressive.

Rivers State Pastor of Living Faith Church, Pastor Isaac Folaji, said thanksgiving engenders growth and blessing. The thanksgiving service attracted traditional rulers, prominent leaders of Rivers State and wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Dame Patience.
