A leader of the Afenifere, Senator Ayo Fasanmi, has called for improved efforts towards unseating the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State.
According to him, the job of ousting the PDP from Ekiti must be seen as a collective one, rather than a battle to be fought alone by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
Fasanmi, in a statement on Sunday by his Personal Assistant, Adebayo Temitope, commended the loyalty and sportsman’s spirit displayed by the 32 aspirants who competed in the primary election that produced Fayemi as the APC governorship candidate.
He urged them to rally round him to ensure that the APC wins the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State.
He said, “Now that the primary has come and gone, we must realise that the success of Dr. Kayode Fayemi in the forthcoming election on July 14 is a collective task for every member of the APC.
“Our dear state, Ekiti, must revert to its original progressive state status. I applaud all the contestants for their passion and effort during the party primary. ”
