VIDEO: Police teargassed me during anti-Osun polls result protest –Murray-Bruce

Senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district, Ben Murray-Bruce, on Friday, said that policemen teargassed him during a protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s office in Abuja.

Murray-Bruce had participated in a protest led by the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus; and other party members that included Senate President Bukola Saraki, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and ex-governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, among others.

They were protesting the result of the Osun State governorship election, which their party lost.

On his Twitter handle, @benmurraybruce, the senator said, “I have just been teargassed by the @PoliceNG at @inecnigeria office. Gunshots have been fired. This was a d still is a peaceful protest (sic). How can I be treated like this in a country I have fought for and invested in? This is madness, I came with words they answered with bullets!”

However, the video shared by Murray-Bruce on his Twitter handle did not reflect his claim.
