Ekiti state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Chief Gboyega Oguntuase has said nobody should fault former governor Ayodele Fayose on infrastructural development of the state during his tenure in office. Oguntuase, who said the PDP should not be faulted also on projects execution, added that most of the infrastructures in the state were constructed during the time of PDP governments.
He spoke in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital yesterday in reaction to a statement by Governor Kayode Fayemi that Fayose’s neglect and abandonment of critical infrastructure in the state for four years, was a reflection of the kind of leadership available under PDP.
Fayemi had last week, during his tour of projects across the state, lamented alleged sorry state of infrastructures including Ikogosi Warm Springs Resorts, Ire Burnt Bricks, Fountain Hotel, Civic Centre and Ekiti Kete Pavillion, among others.
But Fayemi was carpeted by Oguntuase, who said “when you talk about infrastructures, there is nobody that can fault Fayose and nobody can fault our party. It is always during the time of PDP that the state has been having massive infrastructural developments.”
He went on: “That he is a better human being, planning to complete all these projects and paying some outstanding salaries.
“Instead of going into rhetorics and blaming people, Fayemi should show that he has better programmes. Workers are complaining. If some money has been released to him, instead of him to pay the outstanding salaries, he is blaming Fayose.
“By now, Fayemi should be curing his own personal defects. He came in for the first term and failed woefully. Fayemi is my friend, I have nothing personal against this man, but he should get his priorities right.”
