Trump has been working to pull the United States out of the 2016 Paris climate agreement arguing that it will put the country at a competitive disadvantage. Greta is reported to have sailed across the Atlantic in a yacht to attend the event attended by China, India, France, Germany, and the UK while Brazil and Saudi Arabia stayed away. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres ruled that countries would only be allowed to speak at the summit if they brought plans to reduce carbon emissions.
