President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, November 18, congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello for emerging victorious in the Kogi governorship election.
The Nigerian president in a statement by his media aide, Femi Adesina, described the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate as a race well run and a victory well won.
Buhari commended supporters of the APC for remaining steadfast and resolute during the election in the face of isolated incidents of violence.
The president also condoled families and loved ones of those who lost their lives as a result of acts of violence carried out by sponsored political thugs. during the exercise.
The president commended officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for discharging their responsibilities under difficult conditions.
