Police in Edo state arrested two suspect robbers for using super glue to seal the mouth of an 89-year-old woman, Mrs. Imasogbonre Enahoro.
The action of the suspects was to prevent the woman from shouting for help while they robbed her.
The suspects also glued the mouth of her daughter, Marylyn Ajibola, before stealing valuables and a Toyota Camry car from the home of the victim at a village in Igueben council area of the state.
The state police command gave the identities of the suspects as Kingsley Odion and Osaze Ehis.
It was learnt that the third suspect identified as Tosin is now on the run.
They were said to have robbed Madam Enahoro on November 20 after they tied occupants in the house.
One of the suspects disclosed that they sealed the mouth of the victims when the woman and her daughter refused to stop talking.
The robbers fled the house with a Toyota Camry car when they could not find money in the house and later took the car to Osun State for sale.
Miss Marylyn who was at the command headquarters Benin, identified one of the suspects as the person who slapped her mother and tied their mouth.
She said the incident happened at about 5pm and that it was her husband that came home and freed them.
One of the suspects, Kingsley, who claimed to be a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, said it was Tosin that brought the paln to rob.
“When we got to Mama place, she has no money to give to us. Two of us were outside and Tosin went inside. We only found N7, 200 inside the car. I did not know that this Mama’s mouth was glued because I waited outside. We have not sold the car.
Tosin said he wants to be using the car but We told him there is no way we can stay with him in Osun State. I couldn’t stay in his father’s house without doing anything. The car is still in Osun State.”
The state Commissioner of police, CP Babatunde Kokumo, told newsmen that the suspects would be charged to court.
