Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, yesterday and disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has put measures in place to end the socio-political problems bedevilled the nation.
He said that included the dreaded Boko Haram insurgency, militancy, conflicts between herdsmen and their host communities.
Mohammed gave the assurance at the opening of a two-day national conference on peace and national security, entitied: ‘Culture, Peace and National Security: The Role of Traditional Rulers,’ held at Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, Ibadan.
The conference, which was organised by the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, in collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) was attended by scores of traditional rulers from different parts of the country.
The Minister said. “President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated that entrenching national security is a top priority of his administration. This is because the socio-economic initiatives of his government cannot be successfully implemented without adequate security.
