Fulani herdsmen militia in another attack on Tse Shan in Saghev, Guma Local Government Area of Benue state killed at least nine people including two students who went to write the ongoing National Examination Council, NECO.
Those killed in Guma, home of Governor Samuel Ortom were seven while two others were murdered in Logo, the homestead of former governor, Dr. Gabriel Suswam.
New Telegraph gathered that the gruesome attack which occurred at about 3: 00 am when residents were still sleeping, rendered, several others missing and many injured.
Chairman of Guma Local Government Area, Mr. Anthony Shawon who confirmed the killings said the victims included two students who came to write the National Examination Council NECO in the community.
Mr. Shawon told journalists that he had reported the matter to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security matters, Colonel Paul Hemba (rtd).
He said corpses of victims including those injured had been taken to the General Hospital stated in Gbajimba, headquarters of Guma local government where they are receiving treatment.
According to him, he had received received information that the attack came hours after soldiers deployed to the area to help maintain peace in the troubled communities had been mopped up from the area.
He said the Commander of the 72 Special Forces Battalion had swiftly dispatched soldiers to the scene of the attack to confront the assassins but on arrival at the scene, the attackers had already accomplished their mission and left.
When contacted, the Security Adviser expressed the belief that the attackers made incursion into the area from a base in Logo Local Government Area of the state.
