Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to leave the Los Blancos this summer, Portuguese outlet, Record reports.
According to the newspaper, the Portugal captain has made the ‘irreversible’ decision to end his nine-year stint at Santiago Bernabeu.
It claims that one of Ronaldo’s key reasons for wanting to leave the reigning Champions League holders’ is because he’s unhappy that Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez has not offered him a new contract.
It also claims that the 33-year-old is not motivated by an improved deal but wants Madrid to make him an offer in recognition of his performances this season.
Recall that Ronaldo hinted after Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Champions League final that this could be his final season in the Spanish capital.
“It was very nice to be in Madrid,” Ronaldo told reporters.
“In the next few days I will give an answer to the fans.”
Meanwhile, according to Marca, Madrid have told Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes that they are unwilling to match the player’s demands.
Ronaldo will now look for a new club with England, France and Italy named as potential destinations.
