A High Court sitting in Osun State has dismissed the case against the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The presiding judge, Justice David Oladimeji, on Wednesday dismissed the case for lack of merit.
Justice Oladimeji stated that though the document submitted by Senator Adeleke has some irregularities, the court cannot stop him from congesting the Osun governorship election, as the plaintiffs failed to prove the forgery allegations levelled against him.
The plaintiffs, Mr Rasheed Olatunji and Mr Idowu Oluwaseun, had on July 3, 2018, approached the court contending that the PDP candidate was not eligible to participate in the primary election of the party because according to them he did not possess the minimum educational qualification required.
They prayed the court to set the result of the election aside.
The court has therefore dismissed the suit seeking to stop Adeleke as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the September 22 election.
