Having established himself as a wing-back under Antonio Conte, retured Super Eagles star, Victor Moses, is out in the cold at Stamford Bridge, as he has fallen victim of Maurizio Sarri changing the system from 3-4-3 to 4-3-3 this season.
With Cesar Azpilicueta and Davide Zappacosta ahead of him at right-back, and Willian and Pedro ahead of him on the right wing, there is simply nowhere for Moses to play at Chelsea anymore.
Bookies Ladbrokes have provided latest odds for his next destination, and Manchester United are the favourites.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Moses has struggled for game time since Sarri’s Stamford Bridge arrival. Amazingly it looks as though former boss Jose Mourinho could make a shock move for the Nigerian.”
Despite the fact Jose Mourinho loaned the 27-year-old out three times when he was in charge at Chelsea, United are now favourites to sign him.
Ideally, Moses needs to join a team that plays with wing-backs, and among the 10 clubs most likely to sign him, Wolves are the only team that do that regularly – and they are fourth favourites at 5/1.
United do occasionally play a 3-5-2, and Leicester have also dabbled with it, but if he went to former club Crystal Palace or Everton, it would be as a winger.
Former loan club, Liverpool, where he made minimal impact in 2013/14, are also in the running at 10/1 – with Chelsea’s London rivals, Arsenal another option.
