On Sunday morning, 20 August, a Principal Senior Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Knowledge Economy and Investment,Mr. Tavershima Adyorough was murdered in cold blood at his residence in Makurdi.
His wife who was shot as well is now responding to treatment at a government hospital.
Surprisingly, this is the fourth of such high profile assasinations to occur in Benue state since Ortom became governor in 2015.
The others murdered include; Special Assistant on Special Security to the governor, Mr Denen Igbanan; Buruku LG Chairmanship aspirant, Mr Joseph Tondo and Chief Atoza Hindan who was an elder statesman.
Governor Ortom has mandated the police to fish out the culprits saying the actions of the perpetrators was unacceptable and unwarranted.
Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner in Benue state, Mr Bashir Makama has assured that the evil-doers of this heinous crimes will not go scot-free.
