Former Governor of Abia State and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Abia North senatorial seat in the 2019 general election, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has called on the people of the South-East to support President Muhammadu Buhari, for a second term for greater infrastructure and economic boom.
Speaking yesterday at his country home, Igbere, in Bende Local Government Area, Kalu said President Buhari’s visit to the state today would be an opportunity to showcase his scorecard for the zone, saying that his second term would be a period of economic boom for the South-East zone in particular and Nigeria in general.
He said federal highways that were abandoned by successive federal governments including the Enugu-Port Harcourt, the Enugu-Onitsha Expressways, among others, had been rehabilitated by the government of Buhari.
Also, the second Niger Bridge that had been the subject of unfulfilled campaign promises, had also been undertaken by the present Federal Government. Kalu called on Ndigbo to come out to appreciate President Buhari as he visits Abia State and give him support.
The business mogul also expressed confidence in victory as Abia North senatorial candidate of the APC. “I have been on campaign since January and the campaign has been very fruitful. The people are excited that change is coming. If you go through Abia North you will see the excitement.”
