Philippe Coutinho informs Brazil teammates he wants to quit Barcelona this summer.

The 26-year-old Coutinho has been struggling at Barca since arriving from Liverpool last year – Coutinho is planning to quit the Nou Camp giants at the end of the current camp Philippe Coutinho is set to leave La Liga champions Barcelona at the end of the current campaign. The Mirror citing Barcelona-based newspaper Sport, reveal that the Brazilian, who joined the Catalan giants in 2018 has informed club mates he wants to quit Barcelona. Since arriving from Liverpool Coutinho has not found it easy to settle down at the Nou Camp and has been reportedly linked with Manchester United.

 

 

The 26-year-old joined the Catalans in a six year deal valued around £142 million in the winter of 2018, but has not been able to live up to his billings at the Camp Nou. Daily Star reported earlier this year that Premier League duo, Manchester United and Chelsea have shown interests in signing the former Inter Milan man. Spanish football expert Sid Lowe reveals that Barcelona are ready to give up on the player less than 18 months into his stay in Spain but are looking for the right offer. i know that it is a difficult decision, but it can be the best thing for my career,” Coutinho was quoted as saying by Sport to his Selecao pals during the just-concluded international break. The Brazilian further explained that it will be a tougher task to be the best in the world with Lionel Messi in the same team. The 26-year-old is expected to tell club’s chiefs in April that he will be leaving in the summer. Coutinho was urged by Barca teammate Gerard Pique not to give up easily last month.
Explaining later Pique said “Obviously his cost was very high so that means there are more expectations of his performance level. It is what it is. “We have to accept the reaction of the fans because they are our followers but from the inside, we have to give him our support. We need him at his best for the end of the season and I’m sure he will be,” he summed up.
