Nigerian billionaire, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who has outlined plans to buy Arsenal Football Club, has threatened to sack the current Manager of the Club, Arsene Wenger, if the bid to buy the Premier League Club goes smoothly.
In the 21 years that Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal FC’s first team, the Club has had some incredible victories which include seven FA Cups, three Premier League titles, and a Champions League Final.
Alhaji Dangote, who is estimated to be Africa’s richest man, has long sought ownership of the North London Club, and claims that he will be ready to officially table a bid as soon as the project of constructing an oil refinery in Lagos is completed.
“The first thing I would change is the Coach”, the 60-year-old billionaire declared. “He has done a good job, but someone else should also try his luck”.
In contrast, despite finishing fifth on the Premier League Table at the end of the 2016/17 season, Wenger signed a two-year contract extension with Arsenal FC.
Will Alhaji Dangote end the extra two-year reign of the Manager, or will the oil refinery in construction still be in progress at the end of the reign? Time will tell.
