The Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar has announced September 1 as Eid-el-Kabir Sallah day.

This was part of a statement signed by Prof. Sambo Junaidu who is the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sokoto Sultanate Council which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) on Wednesday, August 23.

The declaration was made after the sighting of the new moon, Zulhijja in various parts of the country on Tuesday, August 22.
