2018 World Cup Qualifier: Crucial games for Africa’s hopefuls

Algeria, Ghana and African Champions, Cameroun, face a crucial week of 2018 World Cup qualifier matches.

Cameroun will meet in Uyo, Nigeria on Friday, and also in Cameroun’s capital, Yaounde on Monday.

Nigeria currently tops the Group B table, and Cameroun’s Coach, Hugo Broos, admitted that their hopes will be shattered if they do not take a minimum of four points off Nigeria in the coming clashes.

“Should we fail to achieve that target, I do not think it will be possible to qualify for Russia,” Broos said.

Gernot Rohr, Nigeria’s Coach, also said that his players need little or no reminding of how important the matches against Cameroun are.

Other matches include Egypt versus Uganda on Thursday, Ghana versus Congo Brazzaville on Friday, South Africa versus Cape Verde on Friday, and Algeria versus Zambia on Saturday.
