Among those dismissed were the Chairman and Vice Chairman of ASUU in the Institution.

The spokesman of LASU, Mr Ademola Adekoya, said on Friday, that the decision to dismiss the workers was taken at the 115th Governing Council Meeting of the University, which held on Thursday.

Adekoya disclosed that the council confirmed that the ASUU Chairman, Dr Isaac Oyewunmi, was guilty of demanding N50,000 from students of Political Science Education on the Sandwich Programme, to process their results. This was seen as an attempt to obtain money for himself as an inducement to carry out his duties. He was therefore, relieved of his duty in the Institution.

The Vice Chairman, Dr Adebowale Adeyemi-Suenu, was himself found guilty of manipulation of results. Adekoya reported that Adeyemi-Suenu unilaterally changed the “Withdrawn” status of 12 students of History and International Studies in the 2015/2016 session to “In good standing”. Dr Adeyemi-Suenu also awarded a grade point of 2.0 to two students who were absent in the examination and changed the results of some final-year students.
