The incident occurred while the catholic pontiff was travelling in the pope mobile, customized with an outfitted bulletproof glass designed to protect the pope while he greets crowds.

Apparently the Pope was leaning outside the glass panel in front of him, when the vehicle suddenly stopped causing his face to hit the glass. A spokesman for the pope confirmed the injuries which were caught on camera saying “he has a wound on his cheekbone and eyebrow but he is fine and receiving ice treatment”. The incident occurred in Cartagena, Columbia.
