Ivorian defender, Kolo Toure ends playing career

Ivorian defender, Kolo Toure who had an interesting career with top-flight clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Celtic has finally announced his retirement from active football.

Kolo Toure who made 17 appearances for Celtic last season has revealed that he has joined the team’s coaching staff as technical assistant this season signaling an end to his playing days and a new chapter in his coaching career.

 

Manager, Brendan Rogers, who led Celtic the to their fourth domestic treble triumph by remaining unbeaten in all domestic competitions last season has expressed excitement and confidence in Toure’s ability to impart the lives of young  players in the Celtic team.

 

Kolo Toure, elder brother of Yaya Toure had an active playing time that spanned over 15 years and is one of only eight players to have won the Premier League with two different clubs namely Arsenal and Manchester United.
