The story of Chinecherem Cynthia Ali, a former student of Shalom Academy, Nsukka, Enugu State, has gone viral after she made “A” grade in all the nine subjects she took in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

This exceptional student credited her brother as being her chief motivator. She also said that she had no boyfriend, and that once she got to secondary school, she neither used a phone nor had access to any gadget at all.

Chinecherem is the third of eight children. Her mother works as a medical lab scientist in a district hospital, and her father is a teacher.

In recognition of this achievement, the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has awarded her a scholarship to study in any school of her choice. The Governor advised students in the State to see Cynthia’s achievement as a morale booster for them to work hard also.
