Earlier today, September 21 an unnamed man engaged in a scuffle with some officials of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company at Boderick street around Ehaekpen, Benin-city as they quietly went about their given mandate to disconnect defaulting customers.

The said man-an elderly person prevented the officials from dropping the wire of a defaulting customer after his cry for leniency had been rebuffed.

According to the Route Marshall, Joseph Idugbe overseeing the area in question, the customer had not paid his electricity bills for the past two months hence the drastic action.

Eventually, it was discovered that the customer’s son had paid for a one of the months which did not reflect on the Marshall’s disconnection sheet.

On a conciliatory note, Mr Joseph ensured the man’s premises were reconnected.
