Two killed as civilian vehicles hit landmines in Borno

Report from a driver and a local militia on Wednesday, revealed that two people got killed when a convoy of civilian vehicles hit landmines in Borno State.

A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force, Babakura Kolo, reported that the blasts occurred at Koibe village, along the Mafa to Dikwa Road in Borno State.

 

Kolo said that the first blast took place around 12:00 pm when a car carrying five people hit a mine. Two were reported to have died while the other three sustained injuries.

 

He said that the second blast took place just three minutes later when a truck carrying passengers hit another explosive. Several passengers suffered injuries but it was not clear exactly how many were wounded.
