In an interview from his base in Barcelona, Spain, Nigeria’s number one male tennis seed, Sylvester Emmanuel, has expressed his desire to win this year’s Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship.

Emmanuel noted that, not only does he desire to win the tournament, but he also wants to correct the wrong impression that fans have of Nigerian tennis players.

In response to being asked if he was setting a new target for himself at the tournament this year, Emmanuel disclosed that he had the mindset to win, but that he would see how it goes, as others have the mindset to win, too.

It is recalled that, in the last edition of the tournament, Emmanuel set a semi-final target for himself. However, this time around, he stated that his game had improved, and he intended to win.

“Yes, I can win the tournament. Everything is possible. I am saying this with a lot of confidence because I have put in a lot of hard work in practice and have participated in several other features between then and now,” Emmanuel said.
