Nigeria’s unity is non-negotiable – Nigerian Women

Ahead of Nigeria’s Independence anniversary on 1st October, various women, under the auspices of Nigerian Women for Peaceful Co-existence & Unity of Nigeria, have cautioned advocates of recession to tone down their rhetorics.

The women, led by Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, declared that Nigeria’s unity was not negotiable.

They advised Nigerians to strive towards leaving the country united for the generations to come, just as the nation’s founding fathers did noting that no nation had ever survived two civil wars.

The women also commended the Federal Government for deploying security troops to hotspots across the country, but cautioned that proper rules of engagement be observed, to protect the human rights of the citizens.
