President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, met with three Northern Governors in closed-door at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The three Governors are Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State and Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State, all meeting the President separately.
Governor Gaidam said that he met with the President to felicitate with him on his recovery and return from his medical trip, as well as to request for the refund of $13 billion which the State spent on security issues during the last Administration. Also, he said that he went to seek assistance from the Federal Government for the resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons.
Governor Tambuwal on his part, said that he came to the President to discuss the issue of security in the country, and also to discuss the need for the country to explore oil at the Sokoto Belt in order to increase the economic base of the country.
Finally, Governor Badaru said that he was at the Presidential Villa to give report to the President on the efforts of the Committee on how to diversify on non-oil products, a Committee which the Governor heads.
