Mr Edgal Imohimi has taken over as the Commissioner of Police from Fatai Owoseni on Friday, September 1.

The appointment   which occurred on Wednesday, August 30 had controversies surrounding it as Fatai Owoseni insisted he was still at the helm of affairs, almost seeming as if he was going to act against an express order of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

However, reports have it that the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, in a statement on Thursday debunked that fact and the handover has been successfully carried out.
