While addressing men of the Senate Press Corps, on the Motion on the Demise of Late Dr. Alex Ekweme, GCON after today plenary, Sen. (Dr.) Emmanuel Andy Uba, MFR remarked that the deceased was a Giant piece of Nigeria’s democratic history, bearing in mind, the roles he played as the first Executive Vice-President of Nigeria as well as a founding member of Nigeria’s Nascent Democracy.
As the Senator representing the former Vice President, He added that Dr. Ekwueme’s peaceful transition is not doubt a National loss but also one which dealt a very big blow on the constituents of the Anambra South Senatorial District, which he represents.
Senator Andy also reiterated the need to immortalise the departed political juggernaut, by naming a National Monument in his honour.
