Mrs Betsy Obaseki, wife of the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has called for unity among the spouses of the members of the Edo State House Of Assembly in order to ensure a greater Edo State.
Mrs Obaseki made this call while hosting the wives of Edo State’s Lawmakers when they paid her a courtesy visit at the Government House in Benin City, the State Capital.
The First Lady said:
“There is need for you to be friends to each other, as your friendship will enable you provide support to your spouses in discharging their roles as husbands, fathers and Lawmakers in the State. I encourage you to be formidable as a group, which helps sustain the unity required to develop the State.”
“Ensure that you work together in complementing the roles of your husbands, not minding which political Parties they belong to,” she further added.
Hajia Kabirat Adjoto, the wife of the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, commended Mrs Obaseki for leading by example by supporting Governor Obaseki in his mission to build a prosperous Edo State.
She also commended the First Lady for her pet project which is aimed at improving the lives of women, children and the less privileged in the State.
